To the Basler famliy,I did not have the pleasure to meet Dennis, but I want you all to know that I was touched by his story from the first picture I saw of him surrounded by Superheroes with that HUGE smile. I considered it an honor to be part of the Cards for Dennis Christmas surprise and I hope he left this world knowing he changed the hearts of many people. Please except my sincerest sympathies for your loss. This is for Dennis, "In brightest day, in blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, Beware my power, Green Lanterns light!!!"

To the family, friends and loved ones of Dennis Basler, my deepest sympathies for your loss. Megan and I became aware of Dennis through the efforts of his friends James and others on Facebook, and various other social networking sites. Such a brave, wonderful, and beautiful soul. Despite only having known of him recently, We felt a connection to him, as we do to others who are comic book fans, cosplayers and the rest of the community that we share. When he passed on, it felt like we had lost a brother that we never knew we had. His smile, the strength in his eyes and his unwavering optimism further strengthened our love for our community and for others, regardless of who they are, where they are and how often we get to connect to them. Dennis was and still is, and always will be, a hero. He will always be remembered, by me, and those close to me, and by everyone who's life He has touched. We know that we will meet him once again, down the road. Take care. Our thoughts are with you all. Much love, respect and support from Megan and I.

The world lost a great superhero. In the short time we knew you the lives you touched with your smile and contagious laugh were endless. You will be greatly missed, but now you have your cape and can be the super hero you always wanted to be!
