I'm sorry to be so late with my condolences, but I just found out about Mr. Greco's passing. Many, many years ago he was living with Hazel and their children just two houses away from my home in Old North St. Louis, and he played an important part in my birth! It was a snowy night in 1954 when my mom went into labor, and my dad went to the Greco's to ask to use their phone to call a cab (my parents had neither a phone or car). Hazel immediately told Dominic to drive them to the hospital, and not only did he do so, but he stayed shivering in his car until I was born and my dad was ready to leave the hospital. My dad never forgot Dominic's and Hazel's kindness, and we lost such wonderful neighbors when the Greco's moved to south St. Louis. Rest in peace, Mr. Greco and Thank You!!

Dom, like his brother and sister, was one of those rare individuals who are always upbeat, always have a smile on their face for you, and treat others as they would want to be treated. In return, when you were in his presence, you felt upbeat and happy too. And, as a bonus, he appreciated a good cigar. He was a good man indeed.

Uncle Dom, You taught me and my family so much, you are going to be terribly missed. Watching you teach John, Andrew and Gretchen always made me happy, and you were their Grandpa Greco or Unk! When I graduated from college and went into sales, you loaned me your book "Think and Grow Rich" -I devoured it, and it helped me to overcome all the obstacles I put on my self. I know without your influence, I would of never started my business. Thanks for being the first one in our family to go to college and lead the way for all of us now and in the future. Stephanie loved you so much, you always made her feel like she was part of the family, maybe the best part. I'll take lots of you with me everywhere and every day. With Love, Andy

Uncle Dom you will be missed. We all have favorite memories of you laughing, telling stories, jokes. I especially enjoyed when you and Aunt Hazel would come visiting. You always lightened things up and made everyone feel better.

One particular visit you came over to moms and found me home alone. I have just gotten home from college and everyone was gone for the day. I was crying for no apparent reason and you were so comforting. You said I was probably home sick and it was nothing to worry about.

We love you and know you will surely lighten up heaven when you get to the pearly gates. Say hi to Mom for us!

Lou and Carol: Sorry to hear the news of your Dads death. What a fantastic guy he was. I realized this morning that I knew your dad for 55 years. He was a truly wonderful and ever welcoming man and we will miss him. Kathy and I are out of town but we will keep all of you in our prayers. I like to think that Dom, Uncle Sleepy and my Dad are enjoying a cool one in heaven right now. Three of the original "G Boys" Don and Kathy Goedeker

I only met Dom on a few occasions. I had the pleasure of having a sit down conversation with him last July at the retiree luncheon. In the brief moments I shared with him, he made me laugh often. This world and the GCBC will not be the same going forward. Now, he watches from above. Lets continue to make him proud by following the path he and his generation provided for us. Dom will be missed!

Dominic was a wonderful person. We shared memberships in American Legion Post 111, and the Missouri Amphibious Navy. We also shared a Navy background and accepted each other as both friend and shipmate. I will always remember him, his laughter, and his good will to others. God bless him; R.I.P.

It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Greco and to honor him as our DAR Chapter Patriot of the Month. My friendship with Pat went back many years and I was so glad she found such happiness. Condolences and blessings to all of your family, let your many happy memories guide and comfort you at this sad time.

Dominic was the embodiment of what a good man is supposed to be. Kind. Thoughtful. Considerate. Compassionate. Honest. And, Fun to be with. He was a "stand up guy" in an age where that contingent is in decline. The word "hero" is often overused. For Dominic, it is an absolute.

Rest in peace, Dear Step-Father. We will miss you for eternity.

To a life well-lived: Salud, old friend...

With love,
Leslie and Mike
