We grew up with Fr. Kastner as our parish priest. He married us, baptized our children, taught us to be gentle, patient and kind. He built a beautiful church for the community in Lebanon and most of all,he lived as an example of faith in Christ Jesus. We will remember him for his love of music and the arts. Rest now friend, in the grace of the Holy Spirit,

Father Kastner married us at St Josephs church in Lebanon, Il in June of 1966. Our prayers are with your soul Father Kastner.

I met Fr. Kastner while teaching VBS in Sparta in early Vatican II days,and will always remember his kindness as another has mentioned. Thank you for your sensitivity and appreciation of beauty,plus the gentle light you shared with many in your ministry.

I followed Father Kastner as assistant at Blessed Sacrament. He was loved and respected by all his parishioners

Father Kastner was the assistant priest at Blessed Sacrament parish in the early 50s when I was a student there.It must have been his 1st post after ordination
He was kind & sincere & very well liked by all.
