Fall's Last Goodbye
A golden day full of sunshine and warmth
so beautiful, betrayed the ugly truth.
A fall of roses in bloom to December.
A crash of pain I will always remember.
You seemed so frail, so weak and so near,
yet I was not sure my voice you could hear.
As I took hold of your fatherly hand, so bruised and torn, rough as sand,
I gazed at your body, tired and weak,
and knew this would be our last time to speak.
Go, fly with the angels and be at peace, for your pain is over, your worries will cease.
And so as I ponder our last goodbye, your words still linger, "It's OK," you and I.
Love always, Janet
