Grandpa, just thinking about you today. In my home office is the lamp that used to sit on your desk. A simple fluorescent light. How it brings back memories of your love for your grandchildren, your joy, your enthusiasm for the Cardinals...I miss you and I´m thankful I get to be part of your legacy!

Frank and family, Many good memories of Frank. He was a fine man. He and Blondie (Virginia) and Henry were so much a part of my and my sisters and brothers life. I can still see him standing behind the window. We lived at 2014 Kingshighway, right next to the Cress's. Our prayers are with you at this time. Rick Dyer

A lovely tribute to a generous and blessed man. I remember my parents bringing us Rudy children, in the 1950s, into his pharmacy at the corner of Kingshighway and Forest Blvd. My dad, Charlie Rudy, spoke very highly of Frank Gruber. God bless your family during this difficult time.

Dear Frankie and family
So sorry to hear of Frank's death. I have such fond memories of all the times our families were together as we were growing up. Will never forget the time that Frank and Henry dressed as women and came to our house on Halloween night. Living on a farm we didn't have any trick or treat visitors. My parents were in bed and when we opened the door there stood two strange women who were pushing to get inside. Being scared we called for out parents to come down to the kitchen and soon it was revealed that the strange ladies were Frank and Henry. What a relief and big laugh.

I remember Mr. Gruber as a child growing up in Washington Park. My parents taught us that if we were ever in need of help we could go to his drug store and he or Henry & Virgina Bunder would call them for us. I have many fun memories of the soda fountain and candy rack. Your father was an idol in the Park. Please accept my sincere sympathy on losing a great person.

To the family, sorry to hear about Mr Gruber. His place was a favorite of ours when we went to Manners school in the 60's. My uncle owned Cress' across the street from his pharmacy. Many memories there.
