Gina Gibson Obituary

Gibson, Gina Marie (age 55), of St. Louis, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. A true warrior, her unimaginable strength and determination surpassed all medical diagnoses by living 3 years beyond their expectations.
Born on April 1, 1970, in Farmington, Missouri. She is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years (Robert) Steven Gibson and her parents, Dr. Ira (Sheila) Eaton. She was preceded in death by her mother Donna (Ken) Horan.
Stepmother to Brittany Gibson & Step Grandmother to Kaine & Maverick Sikorski; Sister to John (Terri) Eaton, Stepsister to Murray (Rob) Linden and to Antony (Jackie) Foster; Sister-in-law to Katherine Howton, Joe (Amy) Gibson & David (Karen) Gibson; Aunt to Daniel & Peter Howton, Jacob, Madeline, Ashley, Sydney, Ben, Kate & JD Gibson, Kaitlyn Nolan and Emerson & Chase Linden; God Mother to Sam & Sarah Sweaney and devoted friend to many.
Gina graduated from Lafayette HS in 1988 and later discovered her true passion was helping others. In 1993, she became an EMT-P for St. Louis City. She later decided to further her education by graduating from Barnes Jewish Nursing School with an Associate of Science & Nursing in 2005, which ultimately led her to becoming an RN at Christian Northwest ER (BJC). While attending nursing school, she also enjoyed bartending at Michael's Bar & Grill in Maplewood. During her career she received countless awards & recognition including the Phoenix Lifesaving Award from the City of St. Louis Emergency Medical Service (1994, 1995, 1996), and the John B Dressel Lifesaving Award by St. Louis Fire Department (1998). She was passionate about helping people and dedicating her life to working in ER Trauma.
Outside of her days at the hospital, Gina was an avid gardener and a phenomenal cook. She also enjoyed canning and was known for her infamous pickles. She loved music and enjoyed being a singer for a local garage band known simply as "The Band". One of her favorite things was floating down numerous Missouri Rivers with close friends. But nothing brought her more joy each day than her Rescue Dogs, Ripper & Roxie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 5 to 9pm at the Elks Lodge in Afton - 6330 Heege Road. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis at www.strayrescue.org/donate
