Stubblefield, Gregory R.
61, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 after a valiant, nearly four year battle with head and neck cancer. Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Colleen Stubblefield, his brother Barry Stubblefield, and his brother-in-law Richard Mantonya.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, his daughters Nicole Stubblefield and Lauren Litwicki (Brad); sister Denise Mantonya, brother Rick Stubblefield (Linda), sisters Maggie Breckner (Karl), and Molly Haldy (Bryan); sister-in-law Gilda Stubblefield; nieces and nephews Geoffrey Mantonya, Gentry Stubblefield, Riley Gluckman, Trey Stubblefield, Brenden Stubblefield, Simone Stubblefield, Natalie Asante (Joseph), Lea Breckner, Raymond Haldy, Pierce Stubblefield, and Kaven Breckner; great nieces and nephews Aiden and Kali Gluckman, Skylar and Ocean Mantonya.
He is also survived by mother-in-law Mary Ann (the late Alex) Ustian; sister-in-law Joyce (the late Doug) Terandy, brother-in-law Dan Ustian (Ramona), brother-in-law Jim Ustian (Claudia); nieces and nephews Kim Goeglein (Brad), Janelle Ustian, Kurt Terandy, Eric Ustian, and Alex Ustian (Stacey), great niece and nephew Kyle and Brooke Goeglein.
From college football star at his beloved Cal Berkeley to a highly accomplished businessman, Greg lived a full and successful life with dedicated and loving friends throughout the world. Known for his optimism and boundless energy, Greg's universe knew no limits. Generous in action and spirit, Greg was a benefactor to countless organizations and causes, both locally and globally.
And while Greg's insight into people and opportunities made him a leader of unparalleled skill, it is his kindness and open heart that marked his time here on earth. Greg's truly close friendships are too numerous to count, and spanned every area he touched, from his personal to professional life.
But most of all, Greg was fun. His presence would light up a room and instantly brighten the mood of any gathering. He was a whirlwind of ideas and a mentor to people throughout his life. He sought the best for every person who crossed his path. Our world has lost a good, kind man.
As those close to Greg know, he spent his career with Enterprise Holding, Inc., rising from management trainee to a senior executive with one of the world's largest and most successful transportation companies. During his 37 years with Enterprise, Greg was one of the company's most influential and pioneering leaders. He directed many of the company's most significant new endeavors, including: opening international markets; establishing the company's worldwide franchising initiative; serving as president to the company's newly acquired subsidiary businesses of National Car Rental and Alamo Rent-A-Car; managing large scale acquisitions; serving as the company's top strategy officer; directing worldwide sales and marketing; and much more. He counted the people of Enterprise as his extended family and said of his time with the company that he was "the luckiest guy in the world."
Greg's interests were many. He traveled the world, studied great businesses and leaders, owned race horses (one of his horses finished fourth in the Kentucky Derby), vintage cars, and other interests too numerous to mention. Keeping up with Greg was a marathon of endurance and commitment. He was always on the move, always optimistic, and always ready to help anyone who sought him out.

I cannot believe Greg is gone. I remember talking to Greg at his brother Barry´s funeral.
I went to school with the Stubblefield boys at St. Francis de Sales. They were all incredible athletes and had cool personalities.
We lost a great ND man last August. May we keep his memory alive by sharing stories of his good deeds. Rest In Peace my brother.

On behalf of the entire Peterson family, please accept our most heartfelt and sincerest condolences on the passing of Greg. I had the distinct honor of knowing Greg while he was at Cal and I was at USC. We spent countless times together and I am saddened that I was out of touch for the past 20 years. It warms my heart seeing what an amazing family Greg had and his endless love and support of others. There was never a time that Greg was not doing for others, myself included. May GOD bless you richly. Thank you JESUS for my friend Greg. Blessings to the entire Stubblefield family.

Greg was an inspiring man that I respected very much. I knew him in California and at work in St. Louis. Always took the time to talk to people. Remembered names of everyone and so humble and down to earth. He was a good man and a great leader. I was very sorry to hear the news of his passing. May he rest in peace.

Over a conversation spanning futuristic EHI mobility dreams, family and Ojai; Greg made an impression on me that was enough motivation to shoot to the moon. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I was nervous before meeting him but his grace and kindness were fascinatingly grounding. I’m grateful I had that opportunity and will treasure it.

For those of us lucky enough to work with Greg, I can say that we all wanted to be like him when we grew up. Greg's energy, vision, and fairness were legendary. To his family and friends, I am truly sorry for your loss.
