Bolte, Helen 'Holli' Mary
October 12th, 1947 - December 2nd, 2022
Helen 'Holli' Mary Bolte passed away on December 2nd, 2022 at her home in Seabrook Island. Holli was a rock. She was tough and a survivor and always came out ahead, but lung cancer returned in January of 2022 and came back with a vengeance.
She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond J. Morin, mother Georgette Mandéville-Morin and brother Retired Colonel Raymond J Morin Jr. and sister-in-law Judy Morin.
Holli is survived by her loving husband John 'Greg' Gregory Bolte, son Dr. Myers P. Heritage and fiancé Allie Merrihew, stepson Peter J. Bolte and former husband Paul D. Heritage.
Holli grew up in Rhode Island where she attended Rhode Island College and graduated in 1969 with a B.A. in English.
After finishing her undergraduate degree, she would take the ride of her life - in the most literal of ways - competing in the first unsanctioned, original 1971 Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining Sea Trophy Dash. Holli's team took off across the country in a Dodge Van (aka Moon Trash II) and would place 6th with an elapsed time of 39:03 at an average of 74.3 mph.
She then became a flight attendant and would fly for 33 years for TWA and American Airlines. In the later part of flying the friendly skies, she went back to school and would graduate in 1995 from Saint Louis University with a Masters in Social Work. With that, she would transition to working for 4 years as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with Crider Health Center.
In 1992, Holli and Greg met at Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Charles, MO, fell in love and soon thereafter, got married in May of 1993. They would go on to raise their two sons and on a getaway in 2001, Holli and Greg would fall in love with Seabrook Island, South Carolina where they would move together to spend their lives.
Holli greatly loved her golden retrievers, Goldie, Tasha, Sophie and Sadie and never missed a belly rub or trek out for poop patrol. She had a passion for collecting lighthouses and hourglasses, watching professional auto racing, rooting for her New England sports teams and spending time with her friends at the Seabrook Island Garden Club since 2012 as the club Membership Chair and Corresponding Secretary. She may have been feisty and stubborn at times, but she would always go to bat for anyone she loved and will be greatly missed by her family and anyone she called a friend.
A special thanks to the MUSC and the physicians and nurses at the Hollings Cancer Center. Donations can be made to Lung Cancer Research.
Services: A public memorial service will be held January 7th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 3673 Maybank Highway, John's Island, SC 29455

So sorry Greg. I never met "Holli", but she looks like a beautiful soul in this wonderful picture of the both of you above.
