86, passed Thursday, September 18, 2025. Kathie was born in Springfield, Missouri, to Laura Katherine Glasscock Burns and James William Burns, both of whom preceded her in death.
Kathie's life was devoted to her family, her church and her faith. She is survived by her three children: Mindy Ford (Herb) and children Benjamin (Cristina), Daniel, and Joseph; Laurie Waller (Christopher) and her children Carsen, Cole, and Jake Miller; and Jeff Rayfield (Ann) and children Allison McFadden (Patrick), Scott, Emily, and Billy. Services: A Celebration of Life will be held on December 13 at Gateway 61 Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gateway61 or Sunnyhill, Inc.

What a precious gift to my world. She was a bright light every time we met. The encouragement she was always able to bring. When I tried to encourage her, she encouraged me more. There is a sadness in my heart as well as GREAT JOY knowing Miss Kathie has heard the words "Well done!"

Kathie was such an incredible woman of God and friend! I knew her from attending gateway:61 together. She always showed concern, kindness and compassion for others. Myself and my parents were recipients of her prayers and her “prayer warrior” spirit and were so grateful! A beautiful woman inside and out! I have a feeling heaven roared when she entered the gates of heaven and into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I’m so grateful for the privilege of meeting and getting to know her even just a little bit! And I have no doubt she heard the words from the mouth of Jesus, “Well done! Good and faithful servant”!
