Dear Hendel Family,
How sad we were to hear of Your dad's death. What an authentic example of so many virtues he and your mom were. We treasure our many memories of your family.

I remember meeting Henry for the first time with my Dad when just the two of us went to St Louis for a couple of ballgames. We went to the store and a nice visit. He and my Dad are both looking down on us and probably telling some stories. He will be in my heart and mind always.

Mark and Family, your Dad is in our prayers and will be sorely missed.
As my first boss he taught me many things which I have carried through my life, career, and faith. I have many great memories of those days in the market.
He was a man who fully dedicated himself to everything he was involved in and as a result touched more people than you will ever know. Here's to you boss!

I enjoyed all the years I sang with Henry in the Florissant Barbershop Chorus. He was a delight to be with and even after he stopped singing with us, when we would go to DeSmet, he would sing a song or two with us. I know it is hard to loose a family member, but he had 93 wonderful years here and now he has his reward in Heaven.

Henry is an unforgettable man. He is a model of a true gentleman; humble and hardworking, faithful and funloving, generous and kind. Florissant has lost a great citizen. Sacred Heart Church has lost a pillar of its community. Many have lost a dear friend. I am a better man for having known Henry Hendel.

Some of my best memories as a kid are of going to Hendel's Market after school for candy or ice cream. That and the fact that Mr. Hendel made the best ham salad around.
Rest in peace Mr. Hendel.
My deepest sympathy to the Hendel family.

Mr Hendel, thank you for your many kindnesses to my brother Henry (Mickey) Schwan. We moved in the day before Thanksgiving and you kept your store open so that my dad could buy Thanksgiving dinner for our family. One day on my way to school I droped off my school excuse and gave sister my mothers grocery list. She called me up to her desk and told me to get my coat and take the list to Hendel's. When I got to the store they had already called my mother to see what she needed.
God Bless you all.
