Amazing song writer and friend. It was an honor to record "Water and Blood" and "Callin a Soldier Home" for Nick. God bless the family. Nick was proud of them all.

A true legend who wasn't afraid to help other musicians and singers get recognized. Thank you for letting this young & dumb Arkansas girl sing with you and fill in when you went out of town in the 80's. There will never be another entertainer so nice as you were to all us struggling singers and musicians who would welcome us with open arms. God was watching and said, "Well done my good and faithful servant."

No one can know the big empty in my life now that my favorite friend is gone.I miss the hours on the phone every day, talking about writing and music projects and our shared memories. Both of our lives took a sharp turn the night we met. I knew immediately, that you were one talented fellow! Only as our friendship developed did I begin to understand just HOW talented! you were the MOST talented man I ever met! I am especially thankful for the past 10 years! Oh, how they flew! There's a big hole in my world now, but nothing like the hole in your wife and childrens life....God bless and be with them. Prior to the turn of the century I enjoyed dancing to the music of the Nick Nixon Band for several years. Sure was good music for Country Western dancing. Missed it when Nick stopped.

We were so so sad to hear about Nick. We wanted to come see you but did not want to intrude. We have regreted not seeing you and Nick more over the past few years and want you to know that we are thinking of you and care about you very much.
