Shupe, James Allen

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at St. Louis Mercy Hospital due to Covid and sepsis. Jim was born in St. Louis on July 27, 1942, the son of the deceased Wilbert and Celeste (Heald) Shupe. Jim was the loving older brother of 10 siblings: Ann Marie Hutson, David (Jamie), Betty Young (Charlie), John (Cathy), Tom (Mary Ellen), Barbara, Debbie Gould, Margaret Berry, and Mary Ellen Bruce. He is survived by Thirza Marshall Shupe, his beloved wife of almost 50 years, and his cherished children James Shupe, Jr. (Katie) and Thirza Claire Shupe Frakes (Jason). Jim was the proud grandpa of 5 granddaughters: Lily, Greta, Helen, Lauren and Elizabeth, ages 1-16. Jim spent many happy years after his retirement from Seven Up fishing for hours on his farm lake, and has many mounted fish on the walls to prove his skill. He loved living in his dream house on the lake at Cedar Valley. Jim was calm, stalwart, strong and a friend to all. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Services: Because of Covid, a celebration of Jim's life will be held this summer. Burial will be private at the farm cemetery. Memorials in Jim's honor can be made to the little country church he loved: St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, at 1000 Luebbering Rd., Luebbering, MO 63061.

This is beautiful obituary. And yes, isn't it wonderful that Jim lived the last 20 years in such a beautiful place. He once asked John if he believed in heaven. John replied that he did. Then Jim said "This is my heaven." How lucky he was to you, his children and grandchildren in his life! Take care.
