Jan Niezing

1941 - 2025

Jan Roelof Niezing, 84, of Chesterfield, MO, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025. Born in The Netherlands to Jan Cornelis Niezing and Roelfiena Hinderika Heijes on November 13, 1941, Jan lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, kindness, a great sense of humor, and deep love for family.

Jan began his career as an apprentice technician at a car dealership in The Netherlands and served in the Dutch Army for two years. In April of 1963, he immigrated to the United States in pursuit of "The American Dream". Ursula joined him in November and they married on December 7. Together, they built a beautiful life with a family, a successful business, and many dear friends.

Jan's first job in the U.S. was as a mechanic at Hegeman Volkswagen in Kirkwood, MO. Through perseverance and diligent saving for ten years, he and Ursula founded World Wide Car Service, Inc. in Manchester, MO, in June of 1973. The family business remains a testament to Jan's entrepreneurial spirit, pride in the business, and commitment to honesty as his dream is carried on by Ursula and their children.

Jan is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Ursula; his three children: Jan (Beth), Michelle, and Chad (Fei); and seven grandchildren: Ineke, Katja, Marijke, Sanne, Lieke, Jordi, and Kolby. He is also survived by his brothers: Catrienus "Carl" of Kirkwood, MO, and Bertus of Emmen, The Netherlands. Jan was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Frederika "Freddy" Niezing and Anneke Niezing, and his nephew Jan Roel Niezing.

Jan was a wonderful husband, supportive father, proud Opa, loyal friend, and respected man who loved life. His legacy lives on through his family and many others he met along his journey. With a thumbs-up and a smile, he'd often remind us, "Life is good!" This is how he would like to be remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 1-5 p.m. at Forest Hills Country Club in Chesterfield, MO.
