John Behrens Obituary

Behrens, John E. Jack Baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Thursday, April 21, 2011 at age 95. Beloved husband of the late Virginia Roemer Behrens; dear father of Ginny (Bob) Bartenstein; devoted grandfather of Amanda and Catherine Bartenstein; dear brother-in-law of Maury McCormack; special friend of Dolores Caton; our dear uncle, great-uncle, great-great-uncle, and friend. After serving in WWII, Jack went to work for the U.S. Postal Service where he served as President of the St. Louis Postal Supervisors. Jack was a witty, generous man who was adored by all who met him. Services: Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at ORTMANN-STIPANOVICH Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur. Procession 9:30 a.m.. Mon., April 25, to St. John Bosco Parish. Funeral Mass 10 a.m., followed by a luncheon at the church. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the classical music station KWMU-3, University of Missouri, 1 University Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63121.

What a wonderful man that I was blessed to have met 28 years ago.He was the most kind and considerate person I had the pleasure to work for.I will so miss you Mr Behrens and my heart goes out to Ginny and her family for the loss of your presence.God bless you all at this time.
