Horst, Jr., John Edwin
71, of Fenton, Missouri, passed away on 11-10-2020. He was born to parents John Edwin Horst and Sarah Ruth Horst on 1-10-1949 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
John is survived by Dane Horst, son, Shirley Meyer, sister, Randy Meyer, brother-in-law, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other various extended family members and many, many friends.
John worked as a teacher for 30 years in the Jefferson County Public School System. He was beloved by all his students and fellow faculty members. He retired from Grandview R-2 in Hillsboro, Missouri in 2004. He believed in the value and power of education. He also lived a life of humility and being kind to everyone no matter who they were. He graduated from Washington University with a Master's Degree in Education and then went on to graduate from SEMO with an Education Specialist Degree in School Administration.
Services: A Memorial Service will be postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. Right now, the earliest the celebration of life would be held is late Spring or early Summer. Further details will be posted on social media periodically by his son Dane. A Buchholz Mortuary service.
