Joseph Tierney Obituary
Joe was a graduate of Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Missouri where he received both his BS and MBA. After graduating Joe stayed in Kansas City to work at Cerner Corporation and Infergy before starting his own computer consulting company.
Joe was well known in the KC tech community. He was instrumental in bring Google Fiber to Kansas City. Joe recognized early on the advantages of utilizing Google Fiber to move his clients to the Cloud. Joe was a founding partner of Umzuzu, Kansas City, KS. He later left there to form LeewardCloud, Jacksonville Beach, FL.
Joe loved camping and hiking with his sons. He loved to mountain bike with Sean and their friends. It was magical to see how hard Matt and Colleen could make him laugh. He loved traveling and snorkeling with Corrie. He loved books and animals. We want Joe's legacy to be his love for his family and his loyalty to his friends.
A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held at Clancy's Pub & Butcher, 930 Kehrsmill #101, Ballwin, MO 63011 on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 3p – 7p.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Joe provided immeasurable IT support to me (and HLK) for over 13 years. He was incredibly knowledgeable and always quick to respond to my messages. Whether offering advice, instruction or conducting hands-on configurations, Joe was reliable and helpful. What's more, he was kindhearted and affable. I always looked forward to meeting with Joe to catch up on technology and life in general. He will be missed. I'm praying for God's comfort for your family.
