Donna, Lois, Ed, and all your family (which are part of my family, too),

Our hearts go out to you during this heartjerking, sorrowful time. I didn't know about your mother's death until today. Patti called and said that our cousin, Tad Hawk e-mailed her to tell her. She was able to be there with you and talk again with you all. My Mom said that Aunt Leona was a Christian woman. I can remember her when I was real young. It's a shame that a dreaded disease can steal someone's life.
I looked on line to find her obituary and learned a lot about her. I didn't know she was a nurse's aide for a long time. Aunt Leona cared for so many people. She was dedicated to her family and took good care of all of them. My, what a wonderfully large family you all have. I know she was proud of all of you and you all miss her, deeply. It's very hard to know that you can't talk to her anymore, but we can always talk to Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. It's true she is with Jesus and Father God, but we still hurt because we miss her so much, that words can never express the hurt we go through. My husband explained it this way, when his dad died. He said,"Now I know what the PEACE that passes no understanding means." Without Jesus as your Savior, you will never have that PEACE. He is that PEACE. WE love all of you, even though I've never met most of you. You are in our prayers and thoughts.
Your cousin,
Dixie (Bain) and Jerry Thurman and family
