I was just notified of Darryl´s passing today when I wished him a happy birthday on Facebook. I had no idea that we had lost since an incredible person. Darryl was my first boyfriend and high school sweetheart 1976-1982 ish at Maplewood Richmond Height High School aka MRH and friends beyond that. Darryl was one of the funniest, kind, loving talented men you could ever be blessed to know. I could go on forever about the amazing, fun and profound memories and love he and his family impressed on my life. I loved Patsy as if she were my own Mother. My family considered her as our own. He is a beautiful memory of my youth. Likely because we had so much fun together. Never one fight in 5 years. School football games, Homecomings, proms, family parties, hours of studying for his nursing school exams. I was so proud when he was accepted to Deaconess. He was incredible in every way. I remember when he met and later married Connie and had a family. He was so proud and loved his family beyond measure. We did not keep in contact but I often wondered how he was doing. The reason I´m leaving this loving message of condolence is because I know I have photos and stories that predate his time as an adult, legendary nurse, husband and father and grandfather. I´d love to share photos and stories to anyone interested. I´d cherish a glimpse of a photo if anyone would be so kind. In closing, I am deeply saddened for Pam Wampler (Sister), Connie, Emily, Jacob, Daniel, Lily and Olivia for having lost such a perfect role model. I can still hear his beautiful voice singing in the school plays together. I still have the photos. Love...today and always,
Donna Wilson (maiden name) Pieber.

There are not enough words to describe what a special person Darryl was. He was always kind, considerate, & respectful to others. Darryl never said an unkind word about or to anyone. He has left footprints on the hearts of many and was a treasure to everyone who met him. Darryl always talked very lovingly of his family and how special they were. May God's peace and love help you during this sad time.

In loving memory to my little brother Darryl. You were the best brother on earth. I remember the day you came home from the hospital. That was my first happy memory of you. And since that day there were so many happy memories. You were way more my brother. You were my friend, my confidant , my mentor, my sponsor when I became Catholic, Godfather to my first grandchild. I will miss our texts and phone calls. I will miss your laugh. I love you little brother so much and it saddens me that you are gone. You will always be in my heart. I´m going to miss you.
