Marilyn Herr Obituary

Herr, Marilyn

of Reston, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.

Born on April 9, 1946, in Barberton, OH, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Ammann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only brother, Roger Ammann, and her husband, James (Jim) Herr.

Marilyn grew up in St. Louis, MO, a member of a large, loving extended family. She attended St. George School and earned her bachelor's degree from St. Louis University (Finance 1969; Kappa Beta Gamma). She married her first husband and raised two sons, Darren and Ryan Koch, in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC. A deeply loving and loved mother, Marilyn was a world-class soccer mom and enjoyed volunteering as an usher at the Wolf Trap Filene Center amphitheater. Marilyn married Jim in 1994 and returned to St. Louis before retiring to Lake Sherwood, MO. Marilyn and Jim enjoyed traveling, especially to the Caribbean. Ten years ago, they moved to Lake Holiday, outside Winchester, VA, to be closer her sons and grandchildren.
