Nancy Wetzel Obituary

Wetzel, Nancy L. (nee Blair), 78, born October 13, 1930 Saint Louis, MO., passed into new life on July 10, 2009. Only child of Clifford D. and Mildred L. Blair (Blume). Wife of the late Charles E. Wetzel, Jr. Most loving and generous mother of Christine (Joe) Tullmann of St. Louis, Dan Wetzel of Dallas, TX and Ann (Roy) Michael of Jefferson City, MO. Nancy loved children and spent many of her happiest hours with her beloved grand-children: Margaret Kramer, Brian Kramer, Katie Kramer, Joe Kramer, Olivia Tullmann, Christopher Tullmann, Claire Wetzel, Blair Michael, and great-grandson Elijah Peterson. Nancy was a dear mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many. In her later years, she spent many enjoyable hours swimming at the YMCA, eating lunch around town and playing cards with her wonderful group of friends. When she wasn't out and about, she loved quiet times at home with her dog, reading mystery novels and enjoying the view of her peaceful backyard. Nancy's family extends their sincere appreciation to the many friends who provided love and support to her as her health declined and to the nurses and staff at St. John's Mercy hospital for their compassionate care during her final days. All who knew her were inspired by her optimism and determination to live each day to its fullest. Services: A private memorial service is planned, date to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of one's choice.

Chris, Dan, and Ann,
I am truly sorry to hear about your mother's death/passing. Aunt Nancy will greatly missed, and I will always keep fond & sweet memories of her as I grew up visiting her and Uncle Charles at their house with my mom and dad during the holidays and sometimes summertime. To the Wetzel family,
I was very saddened to hear of your mother's passing. Our deepest sympathies to all of you from your former neighbors, the Moores.
Your mother and father had a big influence on me when we were growing up - I thought very highly of them - and continue to think of them often.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I will miss Nancy so very much. I met Nancy through our friend Bonnie and have had many great times playing pinochle with her (which she loved doing). We had alot in common and I spoke to her shortly after whe went in the hospital; I treasure our last conversation. What a remarkable woman. My sympathy to all her loving family.
