This was a photo of Nina and I at dinner together after the school year ended, because I didn’t really get to say goodbye to the woman who had became basically my second mom, so she and my dad setup a dinner.

I just heard about Nina´s passing, feeling guilty it took so long to find out. Nina taught me in 4th grade, in 2014. It was her first year as a teacher, and she was teaching at woerther elementary school. She was my teacher, but she became more of a mentor and friend than anything else. She taught me, and others in our class countless genuinely useful life lessons, all things I took to heart. When the school had a teacher appreciation week, I built (with my mom´s help), a pedestal for reading and lecturing at because she had been talking about how she wanted something of that nature. We painted flowers and colors on it, it was beautiful. Haha, I just remembered, Nina taught me how to braid hair, and would always tell the class (boys especially) about how to treat women properly when they are older. At the end of that 4th grade year, I had to move houses. Nina and the class made me a huge blue goodbye banner, something I still have tucked away to this day. Her graffiti letters were always a talent, haha. I hoped to one day reconnect with Nina, show her the person I´ve become since her mentoring, and I´m heartbroken to see what has happened.

I just found about Nina passing away and I can say this is an extremely shocking to me. She was such an amazing, vibrant person with so much life to give and always laughing. Although I never got to meet her in person, only through social media, I know that she would have done great things in the future. It saddens me to see someone so beautiful and so vibrant depart the world this young. RIP Nina Marie. I'm glad to have had the chance to know you.

Frank, Amy and Frankie, our hearts are filled with love for each of you. At the same time our heart are breaking for your loss of Nina. Oh, what a pair Amy and Nina made! It was a joy watching Nina grow up to such a beautiful young woman, and then how blessed it was to have our shared students tell me what a wonderful teacher she was to them. They loved her so! We think of each of you every day, and you remain in our prayers. Kathy Poole, Kyle and Alex Nuetzel

Nina will always be in my heart . When I would come visit from Omaha, she would do my makeup and curled my hair. We would have such fun together. She would help me in many ways, but mostly a best cousin buddy! We had many good times like trick or treating together when we were young. Going and watching her sing at her High School at the Holiday season. We shared lots of laughter and girl talk. I will miss her sweet smile and know that she is my buddy in heaven watching over me. Better Behave! Much love and hugs Emily Jaeger❤

Nina, you were such a sweet friend to me. We had some of the best times together cheerleading, jazz choir, late night sleepovers, school dances, birthday parties, New Years Eve bashes, and pizza dates. You introduced me to the finer things in life CPK, sprinkling garlic salt on my popcorn, Facebook, The OCyou even introduced me to my husband. It’s safe to say your life impacted mine for the better in so many ways. Even though we lost touch as we got older, you were on my heart and mind. Rest In Peace, Nina. My thoughts and prayers are with the Baumann family during this difficult time.

Nina was such a kind and happy person! I always loved getting to talk with her when I was working at Woerther Elementary with her! She used to sing to her students and they loved it so much! Every kid at recess would talk about how Ms. Baumann was their favorite teacher! I will never forget the time Nina and I decided to enter the No MO trash contest by decorating a trash can with all recycled materials! We made it Frozen/Elsa themed of course! We took forever trying to come up with a good name for our art project! I had so much fun after school building this with her, she was so much fun to talk to and I will miss her so much, I'm sure her students will miss her like crazy! She was truly a wonderful person and fantastic caring teacher to all students!

You were always my favorite teacher and always have been, I miss you so much and all the stories you told me and every time you made me happy. When you would get mad at the class (which almost never happened) we always knew we could come back with smiling faces and a welcome hug from you, you are loved by everybody around you I wish I could still get those big hugs from you but I can still feel your hug everyday I think about you

Nina, I will never forget your extraordinary vocabulary! You inspired me to be more articulate. I will always remember how you sang opera songs to your students and how much they loved it. Your soul and heart is bigger than anyone I know. You have impacted more lives than most people I know. You inspired everyone of your students to be their best self. Your huge heart and love was infectious. You will be greatly missed and forever remembered!
