Jerry Wade Hall
July 19, 1940 – September 9, 2025
Mr. Jerry Wade Hall, age 85, of Pinnacle passed away on Tuesday morning September 9, 2025, at Surry Community Health Center. He was born July 19, 1940, in Surry County to the late Oscar Harrison Hall and Thelma Inscore Hall. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1963-1965 and retired from the Winston-Salem Fire Department after 25 years of service. Jerry was a farmer when he wasn't at the Fire Department. When he had free time, he was an outstanding golfer. He also loved to travel, specifically to Spring Training to see baseball teams.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Victoria Louise Hall; and two sons, Michael Wade Hall and David Harrison Hall; and sister Jane Hall Caudle.
Surviving is his son, Stephen Chad Hall of Pinehurst, NC along with several nieces and nephews.
A service of worship and celebration of Jerry's life will be held in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy on Monday September 15, 2025, at 1 p.m.
The family would like to thank his long-time neighbors of Dearon Village who were vital in assisting him during the last few months. The family would also like to thank the teams at Surry Community Health Center and Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care shown to Jerry during his illness.

My family and I had the good fortune of knowing Jerry and his family when we all lived across the street from each other on Sylvia St in Winston-Salem. Jerry was one of the first firemen in Winston-Salem to operate their new Snorkel Truck. As a young teenager he took me downtown to the station to watch them train on the truck. He would pay me to mow his yard because he would remind me that a man needs spending money. I even babysat for his boys Michael and Chad so he and his wife could have a night out occasionally. He always had time to sit with us boys in the neighborhood, tell us about some of their rescues or major fires and then end the chat with a life lesson about how we could make a difference in someone's life. Although I hadn't seen him in many years I often thought of him, his family and those good times with him from long ago. He was a true public servant and totally loved his family and friends. Thank you Jerry for your service and mentoring. Much appreciated.
