Siefert, Rev. Ralph A., S.M.
on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the age of 76 with 56 years of religious profession. He was the only son of the late Albert and Vera (Grunz) Siefert. He attended St. Mary's High School where he was drawn to the example of his Marianist teachers. Fr. Ralph professed his first vows in the Society of Mary on August 22, 1964 and was ordained a priest in St. Louis on May 12, 1973.
Fr. Ralph was a pillar of the school community at Chaminade College Preparatory in St. Louis, where he served as president for 33 years. He will be remembered as a caring shepherd, a quick wit, a voracious reader, always having his camera and lens at the ready, and a gourmet cook.
Services: Visitation will be held at the Skip Viragh Center on the Campus of Chaminade, 425 S. Lindbergh Blvd., on Thursday, September 2, from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 3, at 1:30 pm at the Cathedral Basilica, 4431 Lindell Blvd., 63108. The Mass will be lived streamed at www.cathedralstl.org . Father Siefert is a St. Mary´s High School Alumni, Class of 1963. On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students at St. Mary´s High School, both past and present, we extend our most heartfelt sympathy to Father Siefert´s family, friends, the members of the Society of Mary, his co-works and his student at Chaminade College Preparatory in St. Louis.
Also know that we share in your sorrow and grieve for your loss. Special mention of condolences from those students, who at one time or another, walked the same hallways, shared the same classrooms, and participated in the same extra-curricular activities as Father Siefert did beginning from the time he enrolled as a Freshman in September of 1959 until he graduated as a Senior in June of 1963.
