Robert Ripper Obituary
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Diane, and his children - Constance Schenke of Lee's Summit, MO, Dianne Moran of Albuquerque, NM, Elizabeth Tierney of O'Fallon, MO, Thomas Ripper of Grand Junction, CO, and Jason Ripper of Whitehouse Station, NJ; dear grandpa of Marisa Schenke, Lauren Anaya, Katherine Moran, Bryttany & Tommy Ripper, Connor & Analise Tierney & Jacob Ripper; brother of Genevieve Schulte, David Ripper and Richard Ripper. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Arthur J. Ripper and Anna A. Luebbers, a brother, Arthur and two sisters, Francis and Sr. M. Marcella.
He attended St. Mary's Catholic High School, served his country during the Korean War, worked for the Terminal Railroad for 42 years and as a consultant after retirement for four more years.Services: Funeral service at the SCHRADER Funeral Home, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Friday 10:00 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the American Heart Assn. Visitation Thursday 4-8:30 p.m. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at

One of my favorite memories of Mr. Ripper was when Jason and I were kids. Every spring, we would sit on the back porch and he would call the lightening bugs. I don't know how he did it, but he knew just the right time. We never saw any before he called them, but they came out in droves after he did.
My family and I are so sorry for your loss. Bob was a great man and he left behind a wonderful legacy.
