Still playing tunes Ron taught me in the 70s, many his own arrangements. He was teaching out of a studio on Delmar I think. Countless hours of pleasure. I can never pick up a guitar without thinking of him.

Dear Holly, I wanted you to know how sorry I am about the loss of Ron. He was such a kind and gentle person. While you and I only met one or two times while I was married to Richard, I wanted you to know that Richard is heart broken about the news. May God keep you in His hands and watch over you.

Thank you Jodi for letting me know of Ron's passing. I'm stunned and saddened. We spent lots of time together over the years and I was afraid you didn't love Holly enough, but you did. You told me you loved living in Owensboro. Rest your soul because you had a giant fight on your hands. I know you gave it your best. I will think of you often as I do every time I pass Muggs. Holly, I love you and whatever I can do please do not hesitate to call

I was a retiree with no musical experience when I first started taking lessons from Ron in 2011. He encouraged me to study classical guitar and learn to read music quite a challenge but also very rewarding. Thanks to Ron's teaching skills, I learned so much more than I thought possible starting so late in life. And his teaching method made it easy and fun no memorization, drills or practice exercises just good music.

I continued lessons with Ron until he left St. Louis in 2015. Today, I continue studying with a new teacher but I will always be grateful for all Ron taught me. I was saddened to read of Ron's passing. I send my sincere sympathy to his family.

A grateful student, Carol Lane, St. Louis

Ron, I know you haven't left your family behind, you're merely at a better vantage point to keep an eye on them. Anyone who knew you, only grew having met you. I'll always cherish the recordings you shared with me and I hope I was able to afford you, and your amazing family, some level of comfort toward the end. You are missed. -Lee

Dear Holly, Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Ron. As the former sister-in-law, I have many wonderful memories of Ron over the past 40+ years. He was a handsome, witty, fun-loving, kind-hearted, and talented man. The family truly enjoyed watching and listening to him play the guitar as he grew his craft and the business with you by his side. He will always be crazy Uncle Ron to my children, Kim and Zac, who were always thrilled to goof around with him. As adults, they enjoyed having meaningful conversations with their uncle about family - music - art - food life! I am so grateful that I was able to spend time with him and the family this past November at the celebration of his mother's life. Ron had a twinkle in his eye and a sweet smile that I will always remember. He is gone too soon. May he rest in peace. Love to you and the family.

I have fond memories of chatting with "neighbor" Ron back in the 1970s at his office/studio in Clayton. It was located adjacent to a political book store that I worked at part-time. I was not into music production and he not into politics but we still had eclectic things to talk about. When neither of us had a customer in our stores I would stop by and he'd kindly play a requested tune -- seems there was no genre he couldn't do!
I assume where he is now the ol' heavenly harps are joined by a new heavenly guitar. So to Ron I say: R.I.P. - Riff In Peace!
