Norton, Ronald Matthew
With a heavy heart, the family of Ronald Matthew Norton (02/03/1940-04/11/2023), announces his passing in Wellington, Florida.
Ron most recently resided in West Palm Beach, Florida. Prior to residing in Florida, Ron was a long-time resident of Edwardsville, Illinois, following his move from Galesburg, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Clarabelle (Brouhard) Norton and his eldest son, Richard Norton.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger Norton, to whom he was married for 55 years. Ron and Ginger have one son and his wife, Timothy and Jennifer Norton of West Palm Beach, Florida He has two grandchildren: Alexis Winfield (Norton) with husband Bailey Winfield, and Trey Norton.
Ron worked as a journalist/wire editor initially at the Alton Telegraph (Alton, IL) for five years, followed by thirty-six years of dedication to the St. Louis Post Dispatch (St. Louis, MO).
Ron was an avid sports fan, dedicated to St. Louis sports teams, golfer, and socializer who upheld his Irish heritage.
