November 7, 2011

You were my bestfriend since Kindergarten! We both were in Girlscouts, played soccer for SSJJ, and attended the same schools. We went to concerts together (Spice Girls, Brittney Spears, Destinys Chlid) LoL I remember you got me my first Destinys Child CD for my birthday. We had sleepovers ALL THE TIME! I miss you Sammy I really do, but I know your in a better place. LoL Remember how scared I was of your dog, but she never bothered me. I wish you were here to see my girls, I have 2 Aja and Aliya. But I already know you knew about them, because I feel your presence from time to time. My girls didn't have the chance to meet you, but guess what Sammy I have plenty pictures of us. You would think they were embarrassing, but thats the beauty of having old pics... I LOVE YOU & I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.

John & Linda,

A blast from your past here... you knew me as Shelly (Lauer) Piant from Community Federal / Community Agency days (a lifetime ago!). I'm living in the SF Bay area these days and was back in St. Louis visiting my family, meeting my brand-new baby niece this past November. I saw Linda on the news remembering Sam. I was so sorry to learn of you losing your beautiful daughter. I pray that God's peace has lessened your pain and provided tremendous healing. You remain in my prayers.

Much Love,

To my friend and teammate,
The love of a friend is never lost
No matter where it will be
a softball field or a school hallway
The smile from your face will always remind us
that you are always there.
From "Superman I can" to "Get you some"
your amazing presence will never be lost.
To see everybody there in remembrance
was quite a sight to see.
You will never be lost in our hearts
for now we see everyday as a new start.
You opened the eyes of so many
to now everybody is remembering the good times
in which we have so.
Watch down on us all for now you know
you were loved by so many.

I give my hearts to the mama and papa Lipka and friends of my friend Sammy.I love you guys and will always be there.

Love you always

You do not know me, but I know what you are going through. You see, I lost a son in a car accident on Feb. 24, 2004. I just want you to know that I will pray for you always and am here if you need me. Feel free to contact me. And one bit of advice given to me by a very special friend--just be--whatever it is for the moment-nothing more, nothing less- just be what you can at the moment.

I didn't know Sam personally, but I knew her through Mary Cobb Martin's descriptions, pictures and numerous stories. I guess God needed her on his team. She will be missed. Every time someone I love departs this part of the journey without me I always remember that now I have someone else I trust and love that will help me when I cross over. Concentrate on helping those that still remain here to deal with her tranformation in a healthy way as we all get to spend the rest of eternity together anyway. Sam is safe. God blesses us all.

Lipka Family
As a parent of a McCluer high school student I am overwhelmed by the impact her loss has had on the student body and how the students have rally together to show Sam their respect. Many times today's teenagers are given such as bad name but your daughter showed that kids today deserved our repsect and attention. Just reading about Sam and listening to people talk about her Sam had the three most important things going her way, FAITH, FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I know you will miss her smile, her voice and her presence. Grief is not an easy thing to go through and everyone has their own path, travel yours. Linda I have seen you as a DJ many times and always admired your energy and seeing that you loved doing it. I hope you will continue to bring that gift to others. Music is a great healer for many reasons. I'm sure you and Sam had a special song may that give you comfort when you hear it being played. Your sudden loss it just a reminder that each day is a gift and should not be wasted. My families thoughts and prayers are with you.

WE ARE SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, AND OUR PRAYERS & THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU DURING THIS VERY,VERY DIFFICULT TIME
I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU A POEM THAT I WROTE IN SAMANTHA'S MEMORY.

SAMANTHA

SHE CAME HERE FOR A VISIT
SHE STAYED HERE FOR A WHILE,
WE ALL WERE GLAD TO KNOW HER,
WE ALL WILL MISS HER SMILE.

GOD MUST HAVE HAD, SOME GREATER PLAN
TO TAKE HER HOME SO SOON,
HE MUST HAVE HER, IN HIS LINE UP,
FOR HEAVEN'S SOFTBALL GAME AT NOON.

WE KNOW THAT IF IT'S GAME TIME
SAMANTHA WILL BE THERE,
STANDING AT THE PITCHERS MOUND
TO SHOW HIM, SHE DOES CARE!!

SO WHEN WE HERE THE THUNDER
WE KNOW WHO PITCHED THE BALL
SAMANTHA GUNNED IT, RIGHT IN THERE,
WE KNOW SHE GAVE HER ALL.

WE KNOW SHE WAS, A GO GETTER
SHE SHOWED US HERE EACH DAY,
WE'LL ALL SEE HER, PLAY BALL AGAIN
WHEN GOD, TAKES US AWAY!

WE'LL BE THERE AS A TEAM-MATE,
A FRIEND, OR JUST A FAN,
WHENEVER WE ARE CALLED HOME,
AGAIN,WE WILL SEE SAM!!!

John, I know you won't remember me. Sam and my Daughter Meghan have been casual acquantances for years mostly on the softball field. She played with and against Sam at Maryland Heights and most recently they pitched against each other at a Hazelwood West/ McCluer Varsity game. Sam was a sweet kid and a fierce competitor. I know she will truly be missed by so many. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I do not have the words to express how I feel. I am lucky enough to watch so many little girls start out pitching at 7 or 8 and turn into young woman college bound. Sam was one of those that we, at Gateway, watched grow up. Sam and her dad, John, became part of our lives. We all loved to see Sam bounce into the cages or onto the field. She touched many lives. Thank you for giving us the chance to help your daughter grow into a beautiful young lady and athlete. She will never be forgotten. Monday evenings at the cages will not be the same. May peace come to you and your family.

John, Linda, and A.J. - I am so sorry for your loss. We can never understand why someone with everything going for them has to leave our presence. But one of my brothers said something that struck a note when he told me our children our gifts from God and are here for a reason. Although I didn't know her, from reading about her wonderful accomplishments, she set examples and for reasons unknown to us, she served her purpose here...She will be missed by many, but know she is in your hearts forever!! John, Linda and AJ,
How do we let her go, but leave her in Jesus', Papa, and Gran-Gran's loving arms. God blessed us with those very same loving arms while Grandma and Grandpa were with us. I find complete peace knowing where she is, but oh how we will miss her. Everytime I think I've cried my last tear, I find another one. She'll be in our hearts forever and you all will be in our thoughts and prayers. We love you guys so much.
Love, Kerry, Michele, Shelby & Abbey

John and Linda,
You said it in your note to the Maniacs, 'you miss her so much you can't breathe'. I cannot image the pain you are feeling. But I want you to know that we are thinking of you and send our condolences. She was truly a wonderful person and that's because of you. Remember that she is in a wonderful place right now and though you miss her you will see her again. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I do not know you or your family although I graduated from McCluer in 1989 and I too have a daughter who's passion is softball. We went to Nationals in July and a team there handed out rubber bracelets. The saying on it was "Noone in Fastpitch Softball Stands Alone". I believe that. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during your time of grief.

Words can not express how sad we are to learn of Samantha's unfortunate, untimely passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. She was a lucky girl to have you all for parents and you to have her as a daughter.
She will forever live in our memories and prayers..
God Bless you all.

John, Linda, and A.J.
I know that words cannot express your grief and the hurt will last forever. I also know that the love you share for Sam and as a family will also last forever. In time, that love will, hopefully, fill the void. May God Bless and Keep you.
