Where to start….Angie has always been such a big part of my life. She is more than my cousin; she is one of my dearest friends. When she found Shawn and they decided to share their lives together, he too became a big part of my life.
I was lucky enough to meet Shawn early on in their relationship and share a walk with him and Angie to Ted Drewes a time or two on my visits to St. Louis. It was a lot of fun getting to know Shawn and we shared many laughs. I was excited for Shawn and Angie as they seemed to click in a way that would leave them inseparable. I was also blessed to be included in their wedding party and share in their marriage celebration. What a happy day that was! I think our legs still hurt from dancing all night.
We have always kept in touch. One summer Shawn and Angie visited Minnesota. We had a great time and Shawn became fondly known to our oldest son as “The Claw”.
We are all so sad to hear of Shawn’s passing. He was a great husband, a devoted father, and a loving cousin. We will all miss him very much.
Please know our hearts go out to you during this time of sadness. We hope that your memories of Shawn will give you comfort.
We love you!

Shawn,
You will be greatly missed as you were a brilliant young man who thought in only the way PhD can. You were always able to frame problems into pictures (models), explain them to others and achieve results. I feel blessed to have studied side by side with you at SLU. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
