Wyers, Stephen Albert
89, of St. Charles, Missouri passed away on October 10, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 8,1935 in Denver, Colorado to the late Carl and Margaret Wyers (nee: Wilson). He grew up in Denver with his sister and best friend, the late Patricia Wyers Gammon.
Steve attended Regis High School before earning an engineering degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He moved to St. Louis to work at McDonnell Douglas (later Boeing) where he enjoyed a successful career. Shortly after moving to St. Louis, he met the love of his life, Mary Frances Kelly, and they were later married on March 5, 1965. They spent 38 wonderful years together before Mary passed away in 2003.
Those blessed to share in Steve's life are his beloved wife, Mary Frances; his loving children, the late Julie (Dean) Clerc, Becky (Chris) Williams, Amy Wyers (Matt Ritter), Leah (Jason) Foshe, and Stephen Wyers Jr.; his grandchildren, Caitlin/ Lauren/ Maura Clerc; Jacob/Joshua Williams; Nathan (deceased)/Alllison/ A.J./ Evan/Axel Ritter; Evelyn/Luke/Jack Foshe; and his close companion of 21 years, Linda Coleman. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Steve was very active and enjoyed spending time outdoors, swimming, biking, golfing, fishing, sailing and skiing. He was a kindhearted man who would give money to anyone who needed it and donated to many charities. He had a soft spot for all animals and would stop in the road to save a bird or turtle. He particularly loved dogs and gave many lucky pets good homes during his lifetime.
Services: A visitation for Steve will be held at Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles on Jefferson Street from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, October 18, 2024. A 10:00am Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 221 First Capitol Drive. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
