Sylvia Larkin Obituary

Larkin, Sylvia Jeanette Cleve of Sunset Hills, began her life with Jesus on Sunday morning, July 30, 2006, after a prolonged fight with liver cancer.
Sylvia was born in Farmington, MO on February 2, 1941, to Walter L. Cleve (d. Dec. 1961), and Bertha Estelle Hoehn Cleve (d. March 1994). She married, and is survived by, her husband Phillip N. Larkin of 44 years.
As an avid tennis player and golfer, Sylvia enjoyed life to the fullest whether she was cooking one of her famous dishes, enjoying coffee with a friend, attending Bible study, or helping care for one of her great nieces or nephews. Sylvia was a long-time member of Concord Trinity United Methodist church. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and above all friend.
Sylvia was predeceased by her mother, father, and brother Melvin "Shorty" Cleve. In addition to her husband, Phillip, she is survived by her siblings: Virginia Rickus (Chester), William (Alma Dean), Betty Carlton (Charles E), Barbara Cortor (Jesse), Ruby Gifford (Jim), all of Farmington; Carol Cleve of St. Louis; Sonny (Vicky) of Farmington; Ray Lynn (Nancy) of Ellisville; and Sandy Krajcovic (David) of St. Louis.
All of Sylvia's extended family, brothers- and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, and countless number of her friends will remember her with the rigor and humor with which she enjoyed life.Services:A visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Road, on Tuesday from 4pm - 8pm. Funeral services followed by a grave-side service will be at United Memorial Methodist Church and Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington, respectively, on Wednesday at 10am. In lieu of flowers, please send all donations to the American Liver Foundation (www.liverfoundation.org).

Phil,

I feel as though I know you through Syl. She was a friend and I enjoyed so much working with her at Talbot's as well as being with her after she left.She could always make you laugh as well as share words of wisdom and be a caring friend. My heartfelt sympathy to all.

Phil, I am so sorry to hear of Syl's passing. I worked with Carol for years. And Syl came into visit her. And I, had the pleasure of her friendly smile, always had something fun to say.
