I am so sorry to hear about Tom Chura's tragic death. I spent many hours babysitting for his kids during my high school years. Tom would always pick me up early so I could feed and bathe the kids while they were getting ready for their big night out. He only had four kids then: Tom, Gary, Patrick and Karen. I have fond memories of playing with them and putting them to bed. Tom was always upbeat and he gave the best tips in town. We had some great conversations when he'd take me home. I'll always have a special place for him in my heart.

So sorry for your loss. Tom will be remembered for all the help he provided and the fun things he did.
I recall an incident befor we were married that he sent me out to Lambert field to acost some flight attendants for some very important drawings being sent to him, but it was really that you guys had flown Mary in to spend a holiday weekend with us. It took Mary several minutes to convince me there were no drawings and she was what I was supposed to pick up!
Then there was the time when I was very young and was a ring bearer at someone's wedding, can't recall who's it was. Being a little kid in a tux was not fun but I was determined to look the part and keep my shirt tail tucked in, which was a recurring shout that I was on the receiving end of, "John tuck in your shirt tail." Hearing these repeated shouts he either decided to help me out, or he was tired of hearing the same phrase shouted all the time. Tom took me aside and taught me something that I still retain today. "You have a much better chance of keeping your shirt tail in if you don't tuck it into your underwear", also you don't have that annoying white band show above your belt. A true life lesson that he took the time to share. Per his direction we will make a contribution to CBC in his name. He'll be missed.

So sorry to hear about your family's loss... Mr. Chura will always be "coach" in my mind- all those grade school years at SCL that he very patiently coached our softball team- leading us to many victories! Thanks for giving us each a chance to play- especially me!
God Bless the Coach!

Don and Peggy, I was surprised to see a youngster precede us. However, that has been the rule in our family. Not only was Tom part of the CBC scene but his children attended DeS with mine. Accept my condolesces at this difficult time. By the way, brother John was in the hospital 61 yrs. ago awaiting the unsuccessful surgery.

Tom and Lulu were among the first neighbors I met when I moved to the area four years ago. He and Lulu were taking a walk, and stopped to greet me. It was always a pleasure to see and visit with them. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and neighbors. Tom and Lulu will be greatly missed.

You and Lulu meant the world to me. As a refugee in this country and now a citizen, i would never have ask for a best friend than you and lulu. You were both part of my daily life, and i would not have ask for more. I will miss you both tons. But again i have to remember this happens for a reason, no more pain and you are in the hands of the Almighty God now.
