It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Virginia Moon on September 13, 2025. She was born to Raymond and Margaret Wingo of Newton, Kansas and leaves behind sons Douglas, Christopher (Leslie), and Mark (Elvira), and grandchildren Erica, Samantha (Pierce), Matthew, Elizabeth, and Michele and great granddaughter Eden.
Virginia dedicated her whole life taking care of others. The eldest of 5 children, she would look after her siblings as well as tend to her duties at the family farm. She graduated from Emporia State University in 1958 with a teaching degree and began teaching High School English. She later became a homemaker and raised and protected her 3 boys. Later in life, she returned to Kansas to care for her aging parents until their passing. She lived alone for a few years before finally moving back to Virginia to live with her son and daughter in law, living out her golden years gardening, swimming, reading, doing Sudoku, and watching old black and white movies. She loved animals and always had a bowl of cheerios ready to offer the dogs as a treat. Her love for family was immense and she was a devoted mother and grandmother to her sons and grandchildren.
Virginia did not wish for any funeral arrangements or memorial service. She is going to be missed greatly.
