Vel Andreetta Obituary
In Loving Memory of Vel Andreetta
October 30, 1934 – October 13, 2025
Vel Andreetta passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, in Cypress, Texas, surrounded by love. She was born on October 30, 1934, in San Francisco, California, to parents Frances Byrne and Hilda Swanson.
A native San Franciscan, Vel spent her teenage years in Pendleton, Oregon, and lived the majority of her life in Manteca, California, before settling in Cypress, Texas, for her final years. During her years as a homemaker, she poured her heart into raising her children and built a foundation of love, faith, and family that would shape generations to come. Family was always at the center of her world.
After her children were grown, Vel enjoyed a 19-year career as a Public Banking Officer for Wells Fargo Bank, where her dedication and warmth made a lasting impression on all who worked with her.
In retirement, Vel treasured spending time with friends and traveling with her husband of 25 years, Frank "Willie" Andreetta. Together, they explored much of the United States in their motorhome and made cherished trips to Europe. Nothing, however, brought her greater joy than visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Vel was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Frank "Willie" Andreetta; her first baby, Teresa Lanette Zanutto; her granddaughter, Brianna Zanutto; and her grandsons, Mitchel and Michael Zanutto.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Bartline of Aloha, Oregon; and by her loving children: Dan Zanutto and wife Roberta, Diana Dreyer and husband Preston, Sam Zanutto and wife Brulene, Sandy Clark and husband Craig, Tom Zanutto and wife Dorene, Mike Zanutto and wife Celia, and Suzan Foster and husband Will.
Vel was the proud grandmother and great-grandmother to Derek Zanutto (William, Charlotte and James), Christa Zanutto (Caleb and David), Jared Reichardt (Eve), Katrina Reichardt, Hailey Zanutto (Jack), Jake Zanutto, Ryan Clark, Tom Zanutto Jr. (Hayden, Grayson and Margo), Mike Zanutto (Levi, Wyatt and Trace), Melody Kent, Bethany Zanutto (Ava, Lily and Everett), Luke Zanutto, Grace Zanutto, Mercy Zanutto, Matt Zanutto (Steven and Riley), Zachariah Foster, and Gianna Foster and the extended Andreetta family.
Vel will be remembered for her deep faith, her unwavering devotion to family, and the warmth of her loving spirit and smile. Hers was a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and grace. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness and love will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
Vel will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Escalon, California, beside loved ones and near the community she held close to her heart.
