Audrey Norma Mathiason
Audrey was born July 15, 1927 in Harrison Township, Boone County, Iowa, to Albert Herman Ahrens and Lydia Katherine Murken. Audrey was baptized August 21, 1927 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Reverend John Schleipsick. She was confirmed on April 6, 1941 by Reverend H. M. Zagel at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
On July 25, 1944, Audrey was married to Robert R. Mathiason at St. Paul's by Reverend Zagel. Audrey continued to be a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Boone County.
Audrey happily served and fed the students of Roland Story for 32 years where she was the supervisor of the hot lunch program.
Audrey enjoyed cooking and baking and her family looked forward to celebrating holidays together and enjoying the numerous dishes she prepared. Deviled eggs and potato salad were two of her favorites to make and enjoyed by all. Her grandkids fondly remember her bringing Rolo candy bars for them every Sunday after church and no one to this day can make fried potatoes as good as hers. Audrey also enjoyed cutting a rug with her husband, Robert on their square-dancing nights and knocking down the pins in bowling league during her younger years.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Krisha (Norman) Stoll of Boone, two grandchildren, Dustin (Stephanie) Stoll, and Misti McInteer; four great grandchildren, Emelia, Samuel, Laine and Sophia.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mathiason, her parents and a son, Laine Mathiason.
