Ankeny - Betty Lou Martin, 91, of Ankeny died December 6, 2020 in Ankeny.
The Pastor Jonathan Cooney will be conducting graveside services on Wednesday at the Center Cemetery west of Story City. A recording will be played of Laine Mathiason singing the "Lord's Prayer".
Betty was born on March 2, 1929 at the Story City Hospital.
She was united in marriage to Frank Richard (Dick) Martin on August 23, 1947 at the parsonage of Grace Church in Story City.
Betty spent much of her adult life in Story City, Mason City, and Ankeny. She worked at the Telephone Office, Ames In-Cross, ISU Poultry Farms. St. Joe Mercy Hospital, Betty's Maid Rite, and Ankeny Auto Body.
She loved to spend time with her family and dancing.
Survivors include children, Virginia Swenson of Story City, Frank (Meko) Martin of Knoxville, and Mark (Sallie) Martin of Ankeny. Grandchildren Angela (Mark) Schnurstein, Bailey Martin, Royce (Jackie) Martin, Heidi (Michael) Sharp, and Abby Martin. Great grandchildren Emma Schnurstein, Mason Schnurstein, Hayley Sharp, and Charlotte Martin. Sister Patricia (Everett) Sather of Ankeny.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, great grandchild and brother.
Soderstrum Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
