Ernestine Sears Obituary
She was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Beatrice, Neb., a daughter to the late Anargyrus and Edith (Witzsche) Kaloides.
Ernestine was a resident of Sturgis since 1976, moving here from Denver and previous to that Beatrice, Neb.
On Oct. 3, 1943, in Beatrice, Neb. she married Sinclair C. Sears. He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1999.
She was a homemaker and was an active member of Lima United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching TV, especially old Westerns.
Surviving are a son, Kerry (Donna) Sears of Sturgis; a daughter, Judy (Jim) Yockey of Idaho Falls, ID; two grandchildren: Nicole (Richard) Dudek of Sturgis and Christopher (Erica) Sears of Three Rivers; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Dudek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a great-granddaughter, Shelby Sears; nine sisters; and one brother.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date to be announced.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family, envelopes are available at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI who has been entrusted with the arrangements.

The Watcher
She always leaned to watch for us
Anxious if we were late,
In winter by the window,
In summer by the gate.
And though we mocked her tenderly
Who had such foolish care,
The long way home would seem more safe,
Because she waited there.
Her thoughts were all so full of us,
She never could forget,
And so I think that where she is
She must be watching yet.
Waiting til we come home to her
Anxious if we are late
watching from Heaven's window

She was a wonderful wife to Sinclair, Mother to Judy and Kerry and a caretaker to all she pulled close to her. She was my Aunt. I'll remember her broad and heart full smile. And the look that she would get if she was displeased with something. You will deeply be missed by all you've touched. Have a safe journey.
