Gary Battenfield Obituary

Gary Lynn Battenfield, 65, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, in Alexandria.
He was a native of Denison, TX, and lived in Sulphur since 1961. He loved hunting and fishing, and was a past member of the Rebel Bass Club. Gary served on the USS Midway during the Vietnam Conflict and retired from Vista Chemicals.
Survivors include his loving wife of seven years, Donna Battenfield; daughter Gina Milton of Pacifica, CA, and Necia Battenfield of Sulphur; son Derek Battenfield of Sulphur; step-son Brian Wormwood of 9 Mile Falls, WA; step-daughter Kimberly Carl of Aurora, CO; sisters Wanda Price of Sulphur, Jo Ann Twachtman of Sulphur, Jean Smith of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Kathleen Battenfield.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 8, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Charley Watson will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
