James Recke Obituary

Jim passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Born to Wallace and Madalon Recke on November 26,1959, Jim was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. Growing up in Edina, he was a proud Hornet having played hockey, soccer, and bass guitar with his band Neptune. When he was a young boy, he loved spending summers as a camper with the boy scouts and later as a counselor at Camp Ajawah, which he always mentioned was a great experience. He cherished his time in the Forest Primeval, also known as the family cabin in Wisconsin. He was a fan of many types of music, but his favorite bands were Jethro Tull and The Beatles. Jim was also a hopeful, diehard fan of the Vikings with dreams of a Super Bowl.

His wit and infectious laugh will be missed everyday by his children Colee, Tony (Nicole), and Steven; their mother Mary Jo; his grandchildren Mirabelle, Charlotte, Viola Jo, and Thomas; his brother Richard (Terri); nieces, great nieces, and great nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Wally and Madalon, and infant brother Steven.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 7, 11:00 a.m. at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie with visitation one hour before and lunch following.
