Then, on May 3, 1958, Art was united in marriage to Gertrude Geyen at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius with Father Wohlfert as Celebrant.
Farming was Art's passion. Working the land in the fields, putzing on his tractors or tending to the many needs of the farm brought him contentment. Free time was spent with friends and family, snowmobiling, listening to old tyme or country music, playing cards, or grabbing a bite to eat at one of his favorite restaurants. An avid sports fan, he loved watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings games. Art also enjoyed being in community and he treasured attending the Carver County and Minnesota State fairs.
Art and Gert cherished time with family. Having loved ones around was of great importance, especially around the Holidays and at the 4th of July picnics. Faith was Art's compass in life. Later on, it held greater value and he found joy in praying the rosary every day.
