Geraldine Pysick Obituary
Memorial Service Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church (513 Madison St. SE) in Watertown. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
Gerry was born on October 17, 1941 in Mobridge, SD to John and Pauline (Boeckman) Schurmann. She lived on a farm near Eagle Butte, SD as a young child before moving to Winsted, MN at around the age of 6, where she attended Holy Trinity School and graduated in 1960. She met the love of her life, Glenn on a blind date set up by her nephew and Glenn's friend. Glenn and Gerry were united in marriage on October 5, 1962 at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in St. Paul. They lived in New Jersey and Georgia while Glenn was in the army before moving to St. Louis Park. In 1973, they moved to Watertown, MN where they raised their two children, Mark and Sara.
Gerry had a deep and abiding love for her family, cherishing her children and grandchildren with all her heart. Her generous spirit and compassionate nature touched countless lives. Always thoughtful and kind, she was the first to offer a helping hand. Gerry found joy in celebrating life's special moments-holidays, birthdays, and everything in between-and especially treasured the time she spent caring for her grandchildren in their early years. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents John and Pauline Schurmann; brothers Lawrence Schurmann, Harold Schurmann; sisters Lucille Gesinger, Alice Hausladen.
Gerry is survived by her loving family: husband Glenn; children Mark (Patricia) Pysick of Lillington, NC, Sara (Marc) McCaffery of Maple Grove; grandchildren Katherine Pysick, Kylee McCaffery, Brady McCaffery; brother Robert "Bobby" Schurmann of New Germany; sister-in-law Kay Neumann of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
