Gladys Bitzer Obituary

Gladys, 100, went to be with Jesus Friday, June 20, 2025 with her daughter by her side.

Gladys was born November 1, 1924 in Monticello, MN to William and Ella Klatt.

She was baptized November 23, 1924 at St. Peter's Ev Lutheran Church in Monticello, MN and confirmed on July 23, 1939. On September 16, 1942, she was married to Arthur Bitzer from Monticello, MN. They were blessed with five children, Sharon, Mark, Daniel, Mary, and Thomas.

Gladys waitressed and then was employed by Honeywell. Then later started her own interior decorating business.

She was an avid reader, loved fishing, hunting, playing cards and chaperoning the senior center bus.

She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Ev Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the ladies guild for seventy years.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren.

Gladys is survived by her children Sharon (Jim) Woolhouse, Mark (Janet), Daniel (Carol), Thomas (Jodie) and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren, sister-in law-Alice Klatt, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art, her daughter Mary, brothers Lambert, Lyle, Walter and son-in-law Jim.

Gladys especially will be remembered for telling her family and acquaintances about her Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be June 28th 11:00-1:00 with a service at 1:00 at St. Peters Ev Lutheran Church located at 413 E 3rd St., Monticello, MN 55362.
