Harriet E. Vanderlinde, age 96, of St. Bonifacius passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Cedar Crest Estate in Silver Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial held Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church (4025 Main St.) in St. Bonifacius with Father Peter Hughes and Father Stan Mader as Concelebrants of the Mass. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass, all at the church. Interment in the church cemetery.

Harriet Elizabeth Hauwiller was born August 27, 1927 in Waconia Township, MN, the daughter of Henry and Emily (Fischer) Hauwiller. She graduated from Waconia High School. On June 25, 1946, Harriet was united in marriage to Alphonse Vanderlinde at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waconia, MN by Father Albert Heer. Their union was blessed with ten children.

Harriet was not an idle housewife. Although her beloved duties as wife, mother and homemaker were her passion and purpose, she also found time to work outside of the home. She was a rural postal worker for 17 years and also worked many years for a Fulfillment Company in Maple Plain, typing out names and addresses of thousands of people, redeeming their cereal and product giveaways. She sat at many different typewriters and keypunch machines over the years.

She loved to be active in her church and community. Harriet served in various ways with the St. Boniface Church funeral committee, the Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, the St. Boniface Historical Society, with her Senior Citizens group, as well as the St. Boniface Quilters Group.

In her free time, Harriet loved creating beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and trips to the Casino with friends. Above all, Harriet's grandchildren were her delight and treasure. Caring for them brought her immense joy. She will be dearly missed.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband Alphonse Vanderlinde; son Steven Vanderlinde; daughter Eileen Vanderlinde; parents Henry and Emily Hauwiller; father-in-law and mother-in-law Anton and Frances Vanderlinde; infant sister Ruth; son-in-law Thomas Zanoth; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Norbert and Margaret Vanderlinde, Edmund and Marcella Vanderlinde, Andrew and Dorthy Vanderlinde, Florentine and Alex Hauwiller, Jerome and Rosemary Vanderlinde.

Harriet is survived by her loving family: children Donald Vanderlinde of Cologne, Ruth Zanoth of Silver Lake, Roger (Jacque) Vanderlinde of Waverly, Bonita (Randy) Rehmann of Lester Prairie, Sharon (Larry) Ketcher of Cologne, Tony (Sharon) Vanderlinde of Minnetrista, Loren (Jenny) Vanderlinde of Maple Plain; daughter-in-law Martha Vanderlinde of Waconia; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Casket Bearers are Harriet's grandsons Joshua Rehmann, Alex Vanderlinde, Derek Vanderlinde, Matthew Vanderlinde, Jeff Vanderlinde, Mark Vanderlinde, Steven Zanoth, and Kevin Ketcher.
