Laverna Rohwer Obituary
Laverna was born February 26, 1917 to Henry and Ella Dalke in Appleton, WI. Laverna married Ernest Rohwer on May 23, 1942 in Bertha, MN. Their life together led them to Watertown, where they lived for many years. Laverna was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Watertown and enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, sewing, visiting friends and crocheting.
At age 100, she won a blue ribbon at the Carver County Fair for a beautiful Afghan she crocheted.
Laverna was preceded in death by her husband Ernest; parents Henry and Ella Dalke; son Darrel Rohwer; daughter Janice Jacobson; two brothers; son-in-law Arnold Jacobson; other relatives and friends.
Laverna is survived by her loving family: son Dale (Loretta) Rohwer of Plymouth; daughter-in-law Sarah Rohwer of Waite Park; grandchildren Chris (Jamie) Rohwer, Beth (Tom) Miller, Andy Rohwer, Ann Jacobson, Scott (Stacey) Jacobson, Londa (Brian) Heater; great-grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate teams at Auburn Home in Waconia for their love and care.
Laverna never liked being the center of attention and in accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. In honor of her life, the best tribute you can make is to be kind to one another.
A private family graveside service, to honor her life, will be held on her 108th birthday.
Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse from Isaiah, "Do not fear, for I am with you."
