William Bockmann Obituary
Born September 10, 1947 in Chicago, IL to William "Bill" Sr. and Lillian (Meyers), he moved to Mound at the age of 4 and was a lifelong resident of the area, spending his last decades on his childhood property. Bill was a tool and die maker at Advance Machine Company (later Nilfisk Advance) for 35 years. An avid bowler and part-time pinsetter mechanic, Bill was well known at numerous area establishments including Navarre Lanes, Mound Lanes, Country Club Lanes, and Park Tavern.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lillian and Bill, and his sister Verna.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy; daughter, Heidi; son, David; grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler, Lilly, and Ella.
Bill received exceptional care from the staff at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis with tireless support from his brother-in-law David Kinney getting him to and from his appointments. Bill's final days were made more comfortable thanks to his daughter Heidi and the kind staff at St. Croix Hospice.
