Billie Powell

1941 - 2025

Billie Ray Powell was born on August 9, 1941, in Century, Florida. After a dedicated career, he retired from the United States Navy as a Boiler Technician Petty Officer. Billie Ray was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather-known for his kindness, steady nature, and strong work ethic.

He passed away on November 21, 2025, in Brooklyn, Mississippi.

Billie Ray is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Powell, his sister Ruby Normand, and his children:

Mary Palazzolo and her husband Jim; her son Tim Devore and his wife Bea; and her stepson Dante.

Cristin Stebler and her husband Morice; her son Devin Burch and her daughter Kerra Burch.

Paula Bettasso and her son, Allen (AJ) Reid.

He is also warmly remembered by members of his extended family through marriage to his second wife, Sue Carol Powell:

Stepson Dean Kronauer and his wife Mellissa; and their children Joel, Hope, & Noah.

Stepdaughter Tammy Riddle; her sons Shawn and Heath.

Billie Ray was preceded in death by his beloved son, William Raymond Powell, as well as by his first wife, Victoria Elizabeth Powell (Mary, Raymond, & Paula), and his second wife, Sue Carol Powell (Dean, Tammy, & Cristin).

Billie Ray was laid to rest with full military honors in a graveside service held at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi. He will be remembered for his service to his country and the unwavering love he had for his family.
