Bruce Frallic Obituary

Bruce Allan Frallic

August 25, 2025

Diamondhead, Mississippi - Bruce Allan Frallic of Diamondhead, MS passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Bruce grew up in Middletown, OH. He graduated from Miami University where he served as treasurer and president of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Prior to graduating he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to become a pilot and was appointed to the Officers Candidate School in Quantico, VA where he earned his Navy Wings. He met his wife and love of his life, Maria, while stationed at NAS Pensacola. He served his country in the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, Distinguished Flying Cross, Vietnam Cross for Gallantry with Bronze Wings, Air Medal 1st Award with Bronze Star and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

After Captain Frallic completed his five-year contract with the Marines he continued his aviation career in airport management for forty years serving at Raleigh-Durham International, Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional, and at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport as Executive Director from 1986-2012. He was a charter member and the first president of the Mississippi Airport Managers Association, president of the Southeastern Airport Managers Association and received his MBA in Aviation from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

Bruce was predeceased by his wife, Maria, and his parents Andrew and Jean Frallic. He is survived by his daughters Susan Weldy (Jay), Karen Crumpton (Rich), Diana Lynne Frallic, grandchildren Krista Henson, Christopher Weldy (Arianna), Courtney Truss (Alex), Thomas Weldy (Julieanne), seven great grandchildren, brother Jan Frallic and sisters Lynne Mundy (Bill) and Kay Frallic.

Dad was a guiding light, a protector, and a source of endless encouragement. He was there for every milestone, big and small, with a smile that could calm any fear and a wisdom that shaped our paths. He taught us to be strong, to be kind, and to face the world with courage, all while wrapping us in the warmth of his unconditional love.

The family would like to pay special thanks to Bruce and Stephanie Summers, for their love and support, Patty Herbert, his final caretaker (Semper Fi), and the Diamondhead Fire Dept. for their assistance.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Diamondhead with visitation at 12:00 pm and the service at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society or to St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
