Claude Michael Sicuro

April 10, 1974 - November 26, 2018

Memphis, TN

Claude Michael Sicuro, 44, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2018 at the Reynolds Hospice House following an extended illness. He was loved by many and known for his dedication to his family and his kindness to others.

Michael was born in Biloxi, MS. After graduating from Biloxi High School he attended the University of Mississippi and received a BBA in History and a MA in Education Administration. He later earned a MA in History with an emphasis in Historic Preservation from Middle Tennessee State University. Michael had a passion for historic preservation. He worked for 17 years for the City of Memphis in the Division of Housing and Community Development. He served on the Tennessee Historical Commission State Review Board from 2005 through 2017. He placed many Memphis landmarks, including LeMoyne-Owen College and the Highpoint Terrace neighborhood, on the National Register of Historic Places.

Michael was a member at St. Peter Catholic Church. His greatest joy in life was his family, and he enjoyed taking part in activities at St. Agnes Academy and St. Dominic School in order to spend as much time as possible with his children. He was truly happiest being a husband and father, and he treasured time with his family.

Michael is survived by his wife of 18 years, Molly Robinson Sicuro, and by his two children, Olivia and Sam. He is also survived by his parents, Claude and Diane Sicuro of Biloxi, MS, by his mother-in-law, Brenda Robinson, by his sister-in-law Sarah (Shane) Hooper, and by his niece, Ellabess Paladino, all of Tupelo, MS, and by countless other friends and loved ones in Memphis and elsewhere who graciously shared love and support during his illness. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer.

Arrangements are being handled by Canale Funeral Directors. A visitation will be held at Canale Funeral Directors on Wednesday, November 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A Rosary Service will begin there at 6:30 p.m. A short visitation will also be held in the Parish Hall at St. Peter Catholic Church, beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Peter Catholic Church on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with the burial afterwards at Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Michael asked that donations be made to St. Agnes Academy – St. Dominic School or to The Friends of St. Peter, which is an organization dedicated to the preservation of St. Peter Catholic Church. www.canalefuneraldirectors.com

A treasured friend of my 3 sons and our family. We loved Michael like one of our own. Eccs. 4:11, "He makes all things beautiful in His time." Things appear ugly now but He promised to make all things beautiful in time. God bless the entire family.
