Clay Ewing, age 67, of Greenwood, MS, died on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital of heart failure.
He was born on June 15, 1939 to Fayette and Frances (Groover) Ewing, IV in Gulfport.
Mr. Ewing was a graduate of Greenwood High School and a graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. He attended graduate school in Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Ewing was the former owner and operator of WGRM Radio Station in Greenwood. Mr. Ewing was also a former Mayor of Greenwood from 1973-1977. In his later years, Mr. Ewing traveled internationally exporting industrial machinery.
Mr. Ewing was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Matthews and a brother, Robyn Ewing.
He was survived by daughters, Virginia Haley of Greenwood and Melissa Rapp of Coppell, TX; granddaughter, Victoria Rapp of Coppell, TX; and grandson, Charlie Haley of Greenwood.
Visitation will be 12 p.m.-1 p.m., November 28, at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity. Service to follow visitation with the Rev. Matt Rowe officiating.
Memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church in Napoleonville, LA.
