Gregory Ahrens Obituary
Biloxi
Gregory R. Ahrens, 65, passed away on March 22, 2013, at his brother's home in Biloxi.
Gregory was born in Gulfport, and was the son of William "Bill" E. Sr. and Eldora S. Netto Ahrens, who preceded him in death.
He spent his days growing up in Delisle and had gotten to know the local neighbors, spending countless times helping and socializing with them. People around the neighborhood looked out for him and had grown to make him part of their families.
He had a great skill working on small engine lawn mowers and getting them running.
He was often seen riding around the area like a mayor.
Gregory is survived by three brothers, William "Bill" E., Jr., of Long Beach, Wayne, of Lizana, and Michael Ahrens of Biloxi; two sisters, Donna M. Ahrens Hill of Long Beach and Evelyn E. Ahrens Coker of Forest Hill, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 11am at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach, where family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Old Delisle Cemetery.

Gregory was a very special person who was dear to all of us . Edward said that Gregory would always say " one crank " every time he would fix something and then getredidy to start what ever engine he was starting .

We all have fond memories of Gregory growing up in DeLisle. Even after Katrina relocated him he would stop by to see mother (Mattie Mitchell) every time he came to town. He was truly a unique person that everyone loved and looked after. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Michael & Family,
We had the joy of living next to Gregory, Mr. Bill, & later Michael in DeLisle for over 10 years until Katrina relocated us. Gregory was a big part of our lives almost every day for those years. We woould never have traded or wanted to change that friendship in any way, but unfortunately Katrina had other plans. I truly don't believe we could have moved back to LeChene without Gregory being next door, as it just would not have been home without him there every day. We will cherish our memories of Gregory always and spent most of last night sharing our favorite ones with each other. While we many not get to attend his service know that we are there in spirit.

Gregory will always be remembered as part of our family in DeLisle. As long as I can remember he was always around. He spent some of "Maw's" last days with her on the porch on the Bayou and even hot wired her car a few times. My heart goes out to all of you for your loss of a wonderful brother.
