Pascagoula, Mississippi - Jerry Lapelle Lee, 88, passed away on February 21, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on June 28, 1933, in Foxworth, MS to the late Robert Wayne Lee and Audrey McArn Carlise. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he served his country for three years before having to return home to help with his father's business. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Polly Lee, and together they founded Jerry Lee's grocery in 1958. Jerry has always had a very strong work ethic and been very involved in his community. He has served on various boards including Merchants and Marine Bank and the Pascagoula Port Authority. They had four children whom they loved dearly, and it has been evident in the way his family has loved and cared for him. Over the years they have been blessed to travel, ski, play tennis, and golf. Jerry will always be remembered for his generosity and kind heart.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his beloved son, Gary Keith Lee.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Polly Lee; brother, Perry Wayne Lee (Gayle); sisters, Mona Broome, Waynette Frantz (Bill), and Sudy Sykes (Ray); daughters, Susan Lee Harris (Terry), and Thea Michelle Lee; son, Mark Shawn Lee (Renee); eleven grandchildren, Jeremy Ros Lee, Jason Douglas Lee, Hope Lee Mulford (Ryan), Scott Lapelle Lee, Brandon Blake Kelley (Carly), Janna Lee Kelley, Courtney Lee Poole (Jason), Kendall Michelle Lee, Anna Celeste Lee, Ryan Mark Lee (Jordan), Polly Lee Blythe, and 15 great-grandchildren.
A very special thank you to Carnel Shoemate and Virginia Isom for takin such good care of him during his final days.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 12noon – 3:00pm at First Baptist Church of Pascagoula. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00pm with entombment to follow at Jackson County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Baptist Church in Pascagoula or a charity of your choice.

Jerry Lee´s opened his very first store on Live Oak (The old Carver Village) and I frequently went there as a child. I have fond memories Of those "Good Ole" days

I was fortunate enough to work for Mr Lee while I was in High School. I have never met a more finer human being. He treated everyone with great respect and showed that respect every chance he got. He is truly a great person and he will be truly missed. God bless his family and friends
